Disney Raya and the Last Dragon premiered today on Disney+ with Premiere Access and in select theaters nationwide to much fanfare! The toys also took center stage with the release of feature plush by toymaker, Just Play Products.
Just Play Products and Disney sent us a lovely box of goodies along with popcorn to enjoy while watching the premiere! We opted to stay at home since New York City's theaters are not quite fully open. With our Disney+, we paid $29.99 to watch it, which is a bit of cost savings considering we did not have to leave the house. However, if you're a subscriber to Disney+ and choose to wait until June access to Raya and the Last Dragon will already be included. After watching the movie, I say wait, and not because the movie was terrible; it was actually awesome, but mostly because I would rather you spend that $29.99 on some toys!
Raya and the Last Dragon takes us through the journey of Raya, the dragon keeper from the land of Heart, one of the five cities of Kumandra. Raya is a skilled warrior who is quick on her feet. She does not have a mother, much like the storyline of many a Disney film, but she does have the support of her warrior father. His "death" and the story behind it spawns the start of her journey. Raya is a strong female lead, and she has a lot of spunk. If you have a kiddo who wants to recreate the journey of Raya and the friends she meets along the way, then nothing does that better than high-quality toys!
Raya and the Last Dragon Plush Collection by Just Play Products include characters that make it easy for younger children to enjoy together with older children. Plush are cuddlier, safer to throw around, and easier to store than conventional figures, and if you have two small children, then I would strongly consider options from this collection!
