LEGOLAND New York Resort Phased Opening Plan Summer 2021 | New York Family Summer Vacation Planning

LEGOLAND New York Resort is Opening…Soon

Who is ready for LEGOLAND New York Resort to open up in Goshen, New York? This girl and her adorable family, and the rest of the local families hankering for a vacation. Will LEGOLAND New York open up this year though? In short, yes. Will it open this year? Yes. Do they know when? Soon! Soon means summer 2021!

I reported back in February that Governor Cuomo was opening up New York's outdoor venues, and now LEGOLAND New York Resort has some exciting new updates and news to help families start planning their summer getaways!

On April 28, 2021, what should have been a regular operating day at LEGOLAND New York Resort was another day walking through the grounds of the nearly finished park in New York’s promised land, Goshen, New York. Representatives of LEGOLAND New York Resort promise a park fertile with fun, much like the rich fertile soil of Goshen’s rich history.

Summer 2021 is when awesome will happen, and even though families still cannot make concrete plans for their summer vacations, there are still answers that give a glimpse of what’s to come to this promised land. Families will be able to explore LEGO-themed lands and attractions that look like they were built from numbered LEGO sets. Just less than 60 miles from New York City, resort guests will be able to enjoy family-friendly entertainment, and LEGO-themed lands that are sure to please the adults, too. Not only will the park open, but there is also a LEGO-themed hotel that will make sure weary park-goers have a comfy place to relax year-round and the hotel is slated to open for the first phased opening day.

Year-Round Family Fun!

LEGOLAND New York Resort will be open seasonally -- early spring to late fall. The LEGOLAND New York Hotel will be open year-round allowing guests to enjoy all four seasons at the hotel. Guests staying at the hotel during the off-season will still enjoy extra doses of LEGOLAND fun with nightly entertainment, character meet and greets, and holiday-themed events!

Safety First for LEGOLAND New York Resort Grand Opening

LEGOLAND New York Resort was no easy feat to build, and since COVID stopped construction, the original July 4, 2020 grand opening date was canceled. Boasting 15,000 LEGO models with 30 million LEGO bricks, no detail was left unturned, which is why LEGOLAND New York Resort will commence a phased opening for lands and will gradually increase capacity for LEGOLAND guests.

The phased opening may seem quite a shock to many LEGOLAND park enthusiasts, especially ones who already purchased their annual passes, but you have to keep in mind that this pandemic is still going on, and there will be guests from all over the country who will want to experience LEGOLAND New York Resort. Nick Varney, CEO of Merlin Entertainments surmises that guests from the mid-West will be making their vacation plans at LEGOLAND New York Resort.

Some safety measures include implementing a contactless ticket and annual pass system where tickets and passes will be totally digital. I would imagine that paying for food and gift shop items inside the park would also be feature contactless payments. Following CDC guidelines, contactless booking, digital tickets, and annual passes will be offered as well. The safety of LEGOLAND New York Resort guests is very important so temperature screenings mask guidelines, and social distancing will be enforced.

Play All Day and All Night!

Play and stay on-site at LEGOLAND New York Resort! The fun does not stop when you exit the park, so stay on-site and enjoy a fully immersive LEGO-themed experience at the LEGOLAND New York Hotel

Boasting 250 LEGO-themed rooms, resort guests will get to enjoy a true bang for their buck! There is a separate kids’ sleeping area in every room, four different themed rooms to choose from, in-room scavenger hunts with LEGO prizes every day for the kids, the hotel is located steps away from the theme park, and you get free breakfast daily. These amenities are all ticking off many boxes for me as a parent — I search for value, convenience, and the fun factor, the LEGOLAND New York Resort seems to tick off all three of my must-haves in a big way! If you want that resort feel, there is also a heated resort-style pool at the hotel! You can get a head start by purchasing the LEGOLAND Vacation Voucher to put toward a future stay at LEGOLAND New York Resort!

Debuting with LEGOLAND New York Resort this year is a totally new dark ride, trackless experience, LEGO Factory Adventure Ride, featuring a high tech experience that will be exclusively at LEGOLAND New York Resort! On this ride, park guests will witness the creation of the LEGO brick and even participate in its creation. Facial recognition technology will also be able to identify key features of each park guest that goes on the ride thus turning them into their own LEGO Minifigure likeness! The LEGO Factory Adventure Ride will be located in the Bricktopia land where there are no rules to what you can build and imagine!

Fans of LEGO Ninjago are going to love being inside the LEGO Ninjago World where park guests can learn the art of Spinjitzu in the training camp. LEGO Ninjago The Ride gives park guests the opportunity to train as a LEGO Ninjago Master and help defeat the Great Devourer using only their hands as weapons!

LEGOLAND is designed for guests from ages two to 12 and their families, so even the youngest park guests can have a blast at LEGOLAND making the ultimate family destination. For little guests and their families, they can experience The Dragon located in the LEGO Castle, the signature rollercoaster of LEGOLAND, which was designed to be a child’s first rollercoaster. On the rollercoaster, you are fully immersed in storytelling where you’re asked to help a flock of baby dragons learn to fly. I can hear the toddlers giggling with the delight right now, I am getting giddy myself!

Become a part of the scenery and turn into a LEGO Minifigure, make sure you drink really expensive coffee, and take a spin at the Driving School and learn how to drive like a real citizen of LEGO City! This is the most popular ride at LEGOLAND giving park guests the opportunity to earn their own LEGOLAND Driver License!

Splash Battle where guests can blast each other with water in a LEGO Pirate Ship!

Get some sweet relief and let your pirate flag fly at LEGO Pirates where there is an adventure to be had in the only way pirates know - on the seas! With wet attractions like Splash Battle, Anchors Away!, and Rogue Riders, this will surely be a favorite destination during the summer months!

No LEGOLAND would be complete without a miniature replica version of its home city. Miniland delivers in a big way detailing the New York City gems like the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and beloved baseball home teams for the Yankees and The Mets, respectively, Yankee Stadium and Citifield.

Oculus LEGO build from April 2019 meetup at the Oculus Transportation Hub

I remember back in April 2019, I witnessed the unveiling of LEGOLAND New York Resort at the Oculus Transportation Hub in downtown NYC, a gateway where commuters cross paths and meet in this gigantic hub of architectural wonder. It was such a great feeling to see that Merlin Entertainments was revitalizing a sleepy Upstate town, and breathing new life into my home state! Awesome takes time, and I think the LEGOLAND New York Resort are doing everything that they can to ensure a safe and fun opening for all fans - young and old!
