Madame Alexander Celebrates Centennial in Fine Style at FAO Schwarz NYC Flagship Store

World-renowned doll company, Madame Alexander, will be celebrating their 100 year centennial celebration all month long at New York City's flagship FAO Schwarz store.

As a little girl, I always treasured my little baby doll, I snuggled her and adored her sweet little face. When I put her to sleep, her eyes closed and she looked like she was asleep. After I fed her, I patted her back, and she let out a squeaky burp. This doll went with me every where, and 40 years later, I still have her, my sweet baby Huggums by Madame Alexander. For many years, I admired the collection of Madame Alexander Storybook dolls that my mother collected, and I would gently cradle my mother's collection of the Dionne Quintuplets. Madame Alexander has impressed upon my soul and has been woven into the fabric of my life's story.

Beatrice Alexander, later known as Madame Alexander, started the Alexander Doll Company with humble beginnings in New York City working with just 16 employees creating doll clothes and play dolls for little girls to pretend, imagine, and explore. An innovator and true pioneer of the doll making business, Alexander built an empire teaching children around the world the power of doll play and how this kind of play can teach responsibility, empathy, and broaden the creative minds of children.

100 years later, the dolls created from licensed storybook dolls to dolls with realistic features have still warmed the hearts of children and doll collectors around the world. Madame Alexander collectors and doll lovers are in for a treat of a lifetime, especially, if you're in NYC tri-state area for the month of March. With giveaways, in-store promotions, goodies, and nostalgia galore, Madame Alexander collectors will be pleased with the celebration.
