Kids Space Themed Tent Review Sparks Creative, Imaginative Pretend Play

Are your kids already bored and it's only January? Yeah, mine are, too. I got an email to review a play tent, and I usually would not respond to an unsolicited email from a company that I did not know, but I saw the product, the Rocking Rocket Space Play Tent by Vimpro, and thought, "What the hey?" 

Cute hatch door design, and "metal" accents!

Play tents promote pretend play, encourage creativity, and are just a fun hideaway for kids. They also can be bulky and hard to store, but this is not the case with the Rocking Rocket Space Play Tent, it's a perfect size (we all fit inside at one-two kids and me, mom), and the fabric print has cool space designs. There is also a fabric floor, so it's great for indoor play. I am sure you can use it outside, but since the fabric floor can dirty quickly, I would not recommend it. 

Easy open and close zipper that can be opened from the outside and the inside.

I know, it's just a tent, but I felt during these COVID-19 times, navigating the uncertain pathways of parenthood will make you grasp at anything to help keep your children happy and busy. I did not need another toy, and I sure as heck did not need another play tent! However, after building the tent, I most certainly did need this tent, and my kids really needed the tent even more. 

The pitched roof gives the tent height and makes it blast-off ready!

Neat details - rocket fins for aerodynamics. 

The artwork on the tent is playful and has a neat celestial motif with rockets, rainbows, planets, and meteors. I think it would be fun to dress up the tent even more with the glow in the dark stars, a blacklight, some fairy lights, and even an educational space themed book to really round out the learning of space. My younger son is enamored with space, and at three years old I am so impressed with his knowledge of the heavens that I have been researching telescopes. Having this tent has fueled his desire to see the night sky clearly even more.

New Toy Reveal! Block Chain Brainteaser Cubes by ThinkFun - Aesthetically Pleasing and Challenging Brainteasers!

ThinkFun, the company dedicated to making educational toys totally fun and inviting for kids and adults is now slated to release Block Chain™  later this month! 

Block Chain™ by ThinkFun has three titles featuring artwork by three different designers each with three different levels of difficulty. The Block Chain line (available for purchase on Amazon) features three cube puzzles designed by Laurence Grenier. Each set contains three of the same puzzles, but each has its own unique artwork with a fun twist (pun intended!). Each Block Chain set gives credit to the puzzle maker and the artist giving each Block Chain set a very personal touch. 

The artwork really makes Block Chain™ a lot fun and very inviting for the younger crowd, especially if this is their first brain teaser! Robots Block Chain is designed by well-known toys and games illustrator, Kenny Kiernan. Pirates is designed by Mike Ray, and the artwork is really detailed and edgy. Unicorns is fun, cute, bubbly, and totally kawaii and is designed by Squid&Pig.

As much as the artwork brings Block Chain to life, the puzzles are still challenging. The puzzles, designed by Laurence Grenier, make each cube its own unique game. 

Instructions for each title are the same! The images are what makes each of these titles so fun!

Don't be fooled by my simple explanation as there is a level of skill involved. The images must match up correctly if piecing a cubed image together.

Solve each cube in three different ways, but all three titles at launch will have the same puzzles with their own artwork. This does not make Block Chain boring at all, it actually made me want to play each title to see how well I could solve each puzzle. For instance, the Robots title's first cube Block Chain is to manipulate the cube to turn the blue robot into a red robot. The Unicorns title's second Block Chain cube is a pinãta that has to be twisted and manipulated to create a burst of candy. Finally, the Pirates Block Chain's last puzzle is to match the treasure map's color-coordinated pathways to create a complete map. 

Not only is Block Chain engaging, fun, challenging, but the artwork is aesthetically pleasing and it is very well made. You will also be impressed with the high quality coated paper that is very durable -- as you can see, it's so durable that it withstood some toddler testing! My three year and seven-year-old sons love Block Chain and while they couldn't quite solve the puzzles their first go, they enjoyed manipulating and working the cube back together!

Block Chain by ThinkFun are launching January 25, 2021, on Amazon with three titles Robots, Unicorns, and Pirates, and will be $10.99.
