Toy Review: Magic Sketch by Boogie Board Writing Tablet

Hey, pals!

Today we review the Magic Sketch by boogie board. Learn, create, play, doodle with the Magic Sketch! The Magic Sketch is a really cool toy that is a totally transportable writing toy that works like a tablet! It has a smooth LCD style screen, where you can write with ease! It comes with its own stylus that works as a stand for when you want to prop up your Magic Sketch! It also comes with bonus stamps, roller stamp, a flat spatula tool, and a paint brush tool!

The best part of the Magic Sketch are the stencils!! There are three types of color coded stencils: Learning, Games, and Drawing! You will be able to put a stencil in and you can trace letters, numbers, punctuation, shapes, and more! The games section includes fun games to play alone or with your friends! The drawing section has an array of awesome images where you can trace the image! This product will facilitate imaginative play as well as hone their fine motor and social skills!

This is not your typical writing toy - the “ink” color is rainbow, which is super fun! The stamps included will further illuminate your child’s drawing, and you can even use your own rubber stamps to personalize your drawing. When you’re done, simply press the button at the top of the screen, and the image disappears — like magic! No clean up involved - no different combos of crayons, markers, pens — just one set with everything you need to fill the hours of a long ride in an airplane, in the car, or even at home!

This set is a wonderful alternative for the iPad or tablet. It doesn’t connect to the internet, which is a plus; it will allow your kids’ imaginations to run wild! There is a slight downfall of not being able to save your creations. However, your kiddo can ask your to snap a photo of their favorite drawings, and share it with Magic Sketch on their instagram page @themagicsketch!

My son loves this set, and he already threw it, spilled juice on it, and ran over it with his tricycle. The plastic is durable and withstood the control tests of a toddler. He’s three, and I think that is a great age for a child to enjoy this toy, but do supervise, because there are small parts.

The Magic Sketch is powered by a button cell battery that can last up to seven years, so your kids will get years of enjoyment from this set! Thumbs up from us! Thumbs up from you? Let us know in the comments below!

I purchased this set for $29.95 plus S&H. It arrived within a week of ordering it! The extra bonus accessories are a $20 value, and they are already included for free! I purchased it from this site: https://www.magicsketch.com/

Thanks, pals!

Toy Review: Mattel My Mini MixieQ's Campground Play Set

Hey, pals!

At Target, I found a awesome deal on a My Mini MixieQ play set! It was $7.48, a good deal at 50% off and in the clearance section, so I grabbed it! We never opened blind boxes or unboxed anything from this super cute, super tiny line of toys by Mattel.

We unbox the My Mini MixieQs Campground Play Set, and discover a tiny camping world for your MixieQ girls to enjoy! It includes tiny accessories for sleeping, eating, relaxing, and even bear watching! The accessories are small enough for your My Mini MixieQ and super tiny for little hands. This product is for ages four and up, and the whole set includes small parts, so be sure to supervise small children while they enjoy this set. The play set is so unique in that it folds up completely to fit in the palm of your hand, so it’s perfect for on the go play dates at the grandparents’ house, or at a friend’s home. This set reminded me so much of Polly Pocket, except the My Mini MixieQs were a tad bit more detailed and didn’t have as many moving parts as a typical Polly Pocket set.

The Campground Set includes two visible MixiQ girls with interchangeable outfits and wigs. You also get a blind bag with an additional MixieQ girl with an extra wig. There is also a cute tent for a MixieQ girl to sleep (I said trailer several times), a removable sleeping bag to sleep under the stars, a lantern, a service for two with tiny food, and a cute bear! Alas, the play set only included a service for two, I really think they could have included another plate for the blind bag MixieQ girl to eat. She’ll just have to eat the bear. I’m kidding! You can’t eat a bear without a nice plate.

The food is so teeny-tiny in that it is the size of an adult fingernail. The pieces are very small, and we have already lost and recovered many of the pieces. As far as play-ability, M-Tubey played with this set for a good 20 minutes, so I have to say that it is quite engaging for imaginative play, and will really hone a child’s fine motor skills!

Each scene is sectioned by each square fold of the box, and when unfolded, your MixieQs will come to life in the wilderness! It folds up easily, and each accessory stores perfectly within the play set, so clean up is a breeze!

We loved this set! Mattel nailed it with this series, and we look forward to unboxing more — when they go on clearance!

Thanks, pals!

Learning is fun! Exploring numbers and colors with toys!

Let’s count from zero to 10, learn colors, and open up some toys!

Cookie Monster is back, and we found him hanging around the cookie jar again! This time, we counted our cookies, and as a special treat Abby Cadabby stopped by to magic up some Sesame Street coin banks! Inside the banks, we found loads of toy surprises - blind bags from Marvel 500, The Secret Life of Pets, Shopkins, Lil Woodeez acorn, Disney Funko Princess and Sidekicks Mystery mini, a Pokemon hyperball, and more!

Each coin bank represented a different character from Sesame Street and a different color: Elmo for red, Cookie Monster for blue, and Oscar the Grouch for green! To further teach colors - I incorporate every color of the rainbow for each toy surprise, ROYGBIV, the acronym that represents the spectrum of color - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet! I threw in some monochromatic as well.

Learning can be fun for a toddler! It is so hard to keep a child engaged in a task for a span of time, which is why toddler activities should be kept at 15 minute modules. You would be surprised how quickly your day will go with a busy toddler. Learning through creative play sparks their imaginations, and will ignite a craving to learn more!

We enjoyed exploring the Counting Cookies play set by Learning Resources. Today we practiced number recognition by looking at the number on the back of the cookie, and figuring out which number it was. Then, we put the cookies back in the cookie jar in numerical order.

The cookies are the perfect size for my little guy’s hands, and the cookies just look so real and delicious! This set is recommended for ages two and up. This set is ideal for any age, but there is a choking hazard as a child can easily put the cookie in his or her mouth. However, the age limit is noted because the product was only tested for usage by a child aged two and up. Adult supervision is always required when playing with a toy, especially one that mimics food to avoid the placing of the object in their mouth. I purchased this set from Amazon for $12.19, but you can also purchase it at Target.com for the same price - pair that with your RedCard,if you have one, and save an additional 5% off!

This set is a wonderful tool to help build your little one’s confidence with counting. Using familiar tools like yummy cookies, and familiar characters like Cookie Monsters displays familiarity and fun. I feel like fun and learning can be paired together! My son didn’t see this as work, or felt that he was missing out playing with his toys - he was learning and identifying other ways to count! Now with common core education, a simple count from one to 10 is simply not enough!

Smart Snacks Counting Cookies, 13 Pieces
Promotes imaginative play, coordinates baking and numbers, promotes number recognition, enhances hand-eye coordination, and teaches to count 0-10, helps the child understand the relationship between numbers and quantity.

Perfect gift for your toddler or pre-schooler!

If you're in the market for a learning toy, you should definitely add the Counting Cookies set to your list! This set is a great vehicle to teaching numbers and differentiating numbers and quantities. My son is three, and he can already count to ten, but I was concerned about his number recognition. I feel like with more play time with this set, he'll have the cookie counting down pat(ty cake)!

Smart Snacks Counting Cookies, 13 Pieces in total - Cookies are about 1.75" in diameter.

Promotes imaginative play, coordinates baking and numbers, promotes number recognition, enhances hand-eye coordination, and teaches to count 0-10, helps the child understand the relationship between numbers and quantity.

Perfect gift for your toddler or pre-schooler!

What's in a our YouTube video?

Let’s do something different! M-Tubey can count to 10, and he wants you to count with him! Join us and Cookie Monster from Sesame Street as we count from one to 10 using chocolate chip cookies from a super cool numbers set — Smart Snacks Counting Cookies play set by Learning Resources! We will learn to count from one to 10 - forwards and backwards! This set promotes counting skills, number recognition, and hand-eye coordination! Can we count all of the cookies before Cookie Monster eats them?

This is a great video for infants to pre-schoolers to watch, because they will learn to count numbers from 0 to 10 in English. We go through number recognition by showing the number followed by speaking the number, and counting the chocolate chips on each cookie as we place each cookie back into the cookie jar! Kids will also recognize their favorite Sesame Street character, Cookie Monster!

NY COMIC CON Latest Toys Debut at NYCC

We went to NYCC 2016, and we had a blast! Here are some highlights of our day there! I wish we had more to show you, but a majority of our day was navigating crowds, waiting in lines, and chasing a curious and happy three year old!

You will find some awesome footage of upcoming toys from DC Superhero Girls Lego sets and Mattel Action Figures, as well as, Walmart Exclusive Action Figures of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as their favorite WWE Wrestlers - Leonardo as John Cena, Michelangelo as Macho Man Randy Savage, Donatello as The Undertaker, and Raphael as Sting (Sting unveiled these amazing figures at the Hammerstein Ballroom panel). We had the pleasure of also viewing these babies up close at the Nickelodeon booth. They are pretty large in size, I would say about 13” or so (I really could be wrong about the size!), and will be $19.99 and sold only at Walmart - I think they are worth the price! You have WWE Hall of Famers collaborating with TMNT - it’s really a win-win situation.

Blitzway is releasing these amazing Ghostbusters sixth scale figures featuring the original Ghostbusters (ya know, from the real version!) - these figures are absolutely beautiful, so detailed, and just really made me all happy inside! The Ghostbusters figures should debut early They are also releasing the new Fight Club figures as well, but I didn’t get to see them. BOO!

Also, we spied on some awesome Mighty Morphin Power Rangers exclusives that were up for sale at NYCC, but when we got to the booth to purchase the absolutely stunning Megazord for our nephew, it was already sold out. Boo!

We also checked out the amazing art installation of massive pieces of art depicting Wonder Woman through the lens of many different artists, we viewed Classic Wonder Woman to very modern depictions of this beauteous Super-heroine. LOVE! The new movie is also coming out soon, and the trailer was awesome! There’s a snippet of footage in our video, too!

At the Hallmark booth there were so many cute Itty Bittys, but my favorite was Rainbow Brite collection — holy cow — I really love Rainbow Brite, and I am smitten over the He-Man and Jem ornaments - they are definitely gracing my Christmas tree this year! The Scooby Doo and Peanuts Itty Bittys we adorable. I asked a Hallmark rep if there were any new Cubeez in the works, and I was told, “Not yet, but they will be soon.” As ambiguous at that sounds, I am hopeful, because we love our Cubeez! However, too offset that claim, at my local Hallmark store, the owner said there hasn’t been mention of a new Cubeez line in a year - who do I trust? NYCC Hallmark Booth rep for a $1000, Alex. And that’s the Daily Double! Please like, share, and subscribe! Who reads this anyway? If you did, please comment the word “fart” below.

Thanks, pals!
