Summer 2018 is proving to be the best summer yet with the release of the new movie toys! We now have a new line of toys out by Jazwares featuring the characters from Hotel Transylvania The Series, and the new movie Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation!

Yawn! Mavis Dracula is so super tired from her late nights at the Cream Cheese Cafe, so the Ghostly Goodnight Play Set by Jazwares, which features your favorite scream-ager is the perfect addition to the Hotel Transylvania: The Series line up of toys. For ages five and up, even your littlest fan HT fan partake in some spooktacular fun!

The Ghostly Goodnight Play Set can be purchased on Amazon for the ghastly good price of $19.99. There are no batteries required for this set, which makes it wallet friendly, and easy to set up. Right out of the box, your kiddos will be playing in mere minutes. Ghostly Goodnight Play Set includes Mavis as a 4” poseable figure, a random toy surprise that can be unlocked with a key, open and close window which is perfect for a midnight flight with Mavis and Papa Drac, and the walls are double-sided so you can attach, detach, and customize as you please. The play set can be attached to the Scream Cheese Play Set, and will be anchored by the Grand Lobby Play Set (Coming Soon). 

The coffin is Mavis’s cozy bed, and at the foot of the coffin is the lock that hides the hidden mystery surprise. In our set, we got Jett Black, he seems to be the dude that’s plastered all over Mavis’s scream-ager wall! The set also comes with a cage, a fierce looking plant, a mystery surprise, and a key. Mavis’s is wearing an adorable nightgown with fun monster slippers, and her outfit can be removed. So far, you can only get Mavis figures, but I would imagine more of her friends will be joining her soon like Hank, Wendy, and Pedro. As this line of toys focuses mainly on Hotel Transylvania: The Series, you will not see Johnny or little Dennis. 

Each of the Hotel Transylvania: The Series play sets come with a skeleton key that will open up a secret compartment, and inside is a random toy surprise! The  mystery toy coincides with Jazwares HT Monster Mayhem series of blind boxes! The mystery boxes incorporate characters from the movie and the series, so your kiddos will be able to enjoy both lines of toys! There are 61 mystery toys to collect in all ranging from common rare to ultra rare! Right now, the blind boxes can be purchased as a 6-pack on Amazon for $22.99.

Video and Toy Review: Champions Series Action Figures Incredibles 2 Fire Jack Jack Raccoon, Dash and Baby Jack-Jack Poseable Action Figures by JAKKS Pacific

Finally! We have The Incredibles 2 Champions Series 2-packs of Fire Jack-Jack & Raccoon, and Dash & Baby Jack-Jack made by Jakks Pacific. These figures are for ages four and up, and you can find them for under $9.99. I have been searching for so long, and finally found them available on Walmart.com, and I got them for $9.84. Don’t let that weird price fool you - grab these action figures now! I have already seen the prices raised way too high on Amazon by scalpers. 

Back to the review, two figures are included in this set, and it’s just one set of many that you can collect. You can also get a single Champions set of Mr. Incredible for under $13, Frozone (we reviewed this one) for $9.84, and another 2-pack that includes Dash and baby Jack-Jack. The Dash action figure from this is the only full-size poseable figure available as he was not released with the original 13-inch dolls. I wish he was as I would like to see a true action-packed poseable doll for a character that is deemed as super fast. You cannot even bend this Dash figure's legs at the knees, which leaves a lot to be desired for an articulating figure. 

There are six points of articulation for the raccoon (that includes his tail), and fire Jack-Jack has five points of articulation. There are five points of articulation for both Dash and baby Jack-Jack. The figures are made of hard plastic, except where the raccoon's hands are which seem to be quite rubbery. Both action figures are built to withstand heavy play; don’t be too afraid to pose them and battle, because the joints are tight and are well made. 

Overall do not miss out on the Champions figures - these figures only add to the nostalgia and the imaginative play that is Incredibles 2 - the long awaited sequel, which did not disappoint where opening weekend broke so many records for an animated film. Disney and Pixar, as always, never cease to amaze their audiences. 14 years was definitely a long time, but the sequel to The Incredibles 2 was worth the wait!

Video and Toy Review: Edna Mode Tsum Tsum Plush Set Review The Incredibles 2 Movie Toys

We have completed our Disney Pixar Incredibles Tsum Tsum set with the addition of the Edna Mode boxed set. 

The innovative and fabulous clothing designer is now in plush tsum tsum form! The Edna Mode Tsum Tsum set can be found at the Disney Store for $14.95. In the set are three different version of Edna Mode. 

Edna is very expressive with her outfits and her face expressions, so an Edna Mode set with different facial expressions is very appropriate! The first Edna is wearing her current out for The Incredibles 2 movie, and her eyes are almost closed - like she is discovering something and contemplative about her discover. The second Edna is wearing her kimono, she could be sleeping, but I think it’s her wistful expression where she knows she can take care of it, and has a “don’t worry about it, dah-ling” attitude. The last Edna plush is wearing her outfit from the original The Incredibles film, and her eyes are wide - almost as if she is yelling. Personally, I love this set, and I love the packaging as well. The box has great graphics, and the spot UV looks great - there is a slight embossing from the spot UV, but the logo is not as raised as it usually is. Video and Toy Review: Watermelon Smash Challenge Game! Perfect Outdoor Game for Summer Fun with the Kids

We played Watermelon Smash the new game by YULU! YULU Toys is responsible for all of the fun challenge games like Break Free and Operation Escape. The latest craze for summer is the Watermelon Smash Challenge! You can fill your watermelon with either the provided plastic watermelon seeds, or if it’s a nice day out, go out and fill it with water! As a gag, I filled ours with Orbeez! For some reason, the kiddos did not want to get wet! We played with Watermelon Smash in the woods, at the beach, and at our local Memorial Day Parade! Watermelon Smash also has a fun hashtag running through social media, you can play the game, and post the moment you got "smashed" with water or the watermelon seeds. Don't forget to use the hashtag #WatermelonSmashChallenge. 

The game comes with a plastic watermelon, a spinner, and blue and yellow watermelon seeds for indoor play. It’s for ages six and up, and up to eight players can play! To make it even more fun, everyone can wear funny nose and mustache glasses to pay tribute to the gag comic Gallagher! That idea may be better for parents and grandparents, though! The kids we played with had no idea why I had them wear those silly glasses. Watermelon Smash is a great game, and perfect for outdoor summer fun. If you have a large group of kids for an outdoor party, you can gather them all up to get blasted with water! If no one wants to get wet, simply fit the watermelon with the plastic watermelon seeds.

Video and Toy Review: The Little Bus Tayo Toy Review | Learn Colors with Tayo The Little Bus a...

Today we are reviewing The Little Bus Tayo toys by Iconix. This set comes with three buses Tayo the little blue bus, his yellow bus friend Lani, and the green bus Rogi. All three buses snap into their bus depot and can be launched quickly to get to their next bus stop. There are color coordinating removable clocks for each terminal. The bus set makes it exciting to learn colors with your toddlers, and each bus moves quickly on their own to promote imaginative play. This set was so much fun to play with and review. Thank you so much to Iconix for sending us this set to review. 


Iconix also sent us a wonderful The Little Bus Tayo themed Oil Pastel color set full of 24 crayons. We used the coordinating colors to guide Tayo and his friends down a road of educational fun!

Video and Toy Review: The Incredibles 2 Movie Elastigirl Stretching & Speeding Elasticycle Fully Poseable Figure

We have the Incredibles 2 Stretching & Speeding Elasticycle playset made by Jakks Pacific. The Elasticycle is for Elastigirl, and it stretches with Elastigirl’s stretching action. You can also launch the elasticycle from the launcher base. Elastigirl’s elasticycle has been revamped and totally redone for the new movie. Evelyn Deavor, Winston Deavor’s inventor sister, revitalized Elastigirl’s elasticycle. Elastigirl took on the role to save the reputation of the illegal supers. In the movie, Elastigirl is so strong and a great role model for kids! 

The Stretching & Speeding Elasticycle set is beautifully painted, totally fun to play with, and truly a multifunctional toy! The bright red finish is so smooth and so realistic. I wish the panel lit up to give it a bit of an even more realistic effect. This toy requires no batteries at all, so it’s really a great toy as a birthday gift or other event because you can unbox it and start playing immediately. When you’re done launching the elasticycle from the ramp, you can remove Elastigirl from the elasticycle and continue your imaginative play! 

To play, you clip the elasticycle on the ramp, crank the handle, and let her go! The cycle zooms down the ramp and across the room! You don’t even need the ramp to play, because the cycle stands on its own. Another element of play is the removable, poseable and stretchy Elastigirl figure! I really think this is such a nice touch! Elastigirl is fully poseable, she has joints at her hips, knees, and her head spins. Elastigirl’s arms stretch really far, too.

For ages three and up, our four year old has a blast playing with the set! You can find it as cheap as $34.99 on amazon or you can find it at Target for $39.99. The set comes with a removable helmet, the elasticycle, Elastigirl, and the launch ramp.

Video and Toy Review: Break Away Ballz Alex Toys Outdoor Break Your Toys! Puzzle Ball

Break Away Ballz by Alex Toys are the newest sensation for outdoor play! Get the kids out of the house to smash these super bouncy and totally gross balls! With Break Away Ballz you can bounce them, and break them open, and when you’re done playing put them back together with the easy handle foam puzzle pieces. You get a 3D foam puzzle bouncy ball and another bouncy surprise toy inside. Is your mind totally blown yet? We got two Break Away Ballz to open, and inside was another ball even grosser than the outside! The theme here is gross and totally fun. 

Break Away Ballz really got my kiddo moving! Each ball is 5” and contains the easy to reassemble foam pieces - the foam puzzle pieces are very, very sturdy and can withstand multiple bouncing and breaking against hard pavement! We even played with Break Away Ballz in the house - they’re fun to smash inside, but once that surprise bouncy ball breaks free - watch out, and hold on to your fine china! I would highly recommend playing with Break Away Ballz outside only! Geared for ages five and up, your kiddos will love Break Away Ballz! Collect all six unique, and intentionally creepy designs! 

Some characters that you can get are Brain Rage, Zombiesaurus Rex and Homer King! We got Brain Rage and Zombiesaurus Rex! Since the foam puzzle pieces are all the same size for each ball, have some fun, and mix your Break Away Ballz faces.
