Family Vacation Review | Our First Time At Hersheypark Was Full of Wheeee!

Wheeee! Remember The Simpsons episode when he visits the Land of Chocolate? I had that song stuck in my head all day yesterday. 🍫🍫🍫🍩🍩🍩🍩🍪🍪🍪

Hersheypark is just a lot of FUN! We are a family of four seeking excitement and a break from the worry that is our world now. I  was searching for a mini vacation that has great value, close to home, and has something for every age; Hersheypark was the answer!
Here is a glimpse into our first day with some of my tips. I'd love to hear your tips and tricks, so flood my comments section with your comments!
Hersheypark is a one stop shop of everything a theme park should offer. With the addition of Chocolate Town, there is another layer of dining and experience added before you even enter the theme park.
Once inside the park, there are rides, character meets, carnival style games (that are really decently priced), and entertainment that range for all ages. Everyone in your group (sized KISSES to Jolly Rancher) will have a great time.
Here are a few tips from our first "day," and I'll get to why I put that in quotes.
By purchasing a theme park pass, you get two hours free with all admission tickets, and ul to three hours feee if you're staying onsite. Some rules apply to this deal, so check out the fine print here. https://www.hersheypark.com/tickets/free-extra-hours.php
This is a sweet deal that I loved the most! There are no hidden fees, you just show your ticket and enjoy the perks. Plus, we really didn't know what to expect from our first theme park day, so getting the Kay of the land is a huge help. The last time we were at Hersheypark was during the holidays, and the park takes over a different feel (lots of holiday spirit), so the thrill rides aspect is not really present. Going in the winter versus normal park operating days (spring and summer) are totally two different experiences! I highly recommend that you try both.

Guests of official resorts of Hersheypark also get a Sweet Start! We can visit the park an hour before it actually opens!

Use the free Hersheypark app and get your free HPGO bands. The Hersheypark app has filters to see which rides are suitable for the whole family and rides just for the adults to get their sillies out too! You can also bookmark and create lists of must do eats and rides, which helps to organize your day without really adhering to set a schedule. The app also has a great navigation system that will guide you through the
The HPGO bands can be linked to each park guest where ride photos, Fast Track passes (separate purchase), dining plans, and more can be accessed. I like the feature of getting your ride photos automatically added after you ride.
Chocolatetown is a new addition to the entrance of Herskeypark! The last time we went, there was just a huge gap between The Chocolate Experience and the park's entrance. Now you've got a brand new restaurant, The Chocolatier that has great vintage theming, and Milton's Ice Cream Parlor. The Chocolatier is very popular, so expect a wait. We didn't have the time to spare, so we decided on Milton's instead. We didn't get to experience the desserts there, but we tried a majority of the menu to share, and it is all delicious! For $60, our whole family of four ate well! We got the bucket of chicken with three sauces to choose from; I got four sauces, because I am sauce obsessed. We chose rosemary garlic aioli, ranch, smokehouse barbecue, and the chocolate molé. I would skip the Rosemary garlic aioli the next time, but the rest were superb! I love sauces--I need my dipping sauces, so this was a treat for me! The chocolate mole is really divine and a little goes a long way for a dip as it's got a big kick! The ranch was a huge surprise, because it went to so well with the chicken. The smokehouse barbecue sauce is the best I've had in a long time! We also got the bucket of fries , which comes with three sauces and four different types of potatoes to dip--tater tots, Pinwheel fries (they're like steak fries), waffle fries, and curly fries.
I'm not sure if you can, but I would just opt for the Pinwheel fries and Waffle Fries--those are the best for dipping! The kids loved the tater tots, of course. We also got the cheeseburger sliders as your get two, and they're pretty big, so they're perfect for two people. For our youngest picky eater, we got him the grilled cheese and fries off of the kid's meal menu. Let me tell you, the size is perfect for an adult to enjoy and the sandwich itself is comparable to an artisanal sandwich. You don't get your run of the mill theme park food at Hersheypark. We are well, and it was our only meal of the day, because we were saving room for CHOCOLATE!
Remember what I said about one stop shop? Well Hersheypark is literally everything you love about theme parks in one--it's really all that and a bag of chips (tip: you can find homemade chips sold at Milton's Ice Cream Parlor!).
With the newest land, The Boardwalk, you have a whole other park to explore! The Boardwalk features all water rides for the whole family, so come wearing your bathing suit! We haven't fully explored this part of the park yet, but here are a few tips just from my own experience at water parks and what I saw available at The Boardwalk. There are lockers for your belongings so you can be completely free of excess (think cell phones and even your wallet!). Make sure you're wearing your HPGO bracelet, too. If you just have your phone, get a holder here on Amazon. https://amzn.to/3jt5nYx
I highly recommend that you wear sneakers to enjoy the rides at Hersheypark, plus there is a lot of walking with little hills through each land, so comfortable walking shoes are a must. If you're just heading to The Boardwalk, wear sandals or water shoes that are suitable for walking. There is a lazy river, a zero entry pool, loads of slides, and more at The Boardwalk!  This is all at the same park--no leaving the park at all! If you only have one day at the park and want to experience both, I would recommend visiting The Boardwalk in the morning and use their family dryer (for a separate fee) to get yourselves dry, or just bring a change of clothes!

Overall our first "day" was a success.

Marcello and I went on COMET yesterday--his screams were hilarious! He's been on coasters before but nothing like the COMET. He couldn't believe how many drops and twists there were. COMET is the oldest coaster in the park, and it's really beautifully maintained! There's so many twists and turns, and even though you're topping out at 50 mph, it feels like you're going way faster! Hopefully we can hit up Laff Trakk and Candymonium today! Laff Trakk was closed yesterday!

Rocco was also so happy to ride in a hot air balloon yesterday! It was the first time the boys went on a ride together -just the two of them.
Yesterday we just explored a bit--that preview the night before your first full park day is really a sweet deal. Now we have an idea of how we're going to tackle today! Lots of snacks and rides today!
If you've never been to Hersheypark with the kids, add it to your bucket list, so far we're having a blast!

LEGO CITY STUNTZ Announced Stunt Show Arena, Stunt Park, Merry Cast of LEGO Minifigures Fall 2021

Now LEGO Minifigures can do their own stunts with LEGO City Stuntz!

LEGO announced the release of a new division of LEGO City further adding to the storyline coming this Fall 2021.

Featuring 10 new LEGO sets like a Stunt Arena, a Stunt Park, and lots of stunt bikes with different themes like Rocket, Chicken, Fire, Selfie, and more! Kids can connect the sets to create a huge stunt park featuring ramps, obstacles, interactive stunt bikes, a ring of fire made of LEGO flames to soar through! The LEGO stunt bike has a flywheel that can be activated to help with the stunt performance!

Budding LEGO builders ages five and up will delight in the stunt storyline where the possibilities of play are wildly endless!

The box art for each set is fun and just wild! The text is off center, there's splotches of spray paint on the box, and the STUNTZ text is bubbly! I love it! The box is a lot of fun, and is telling of how much fun awaits inside. With articulated LEGO minifigures to pose, you can create a whole new world of play.

The new LEGO® City Stuntz sets will be available October 1st and later globally on LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and other select retailers. The range includes:

The Tooth Fairy Collection--Kids and Parents Can Celebrate This Milestone Together! Happy National Tooth Fairy Day!

Take the guess work out of a visit from The Tooth Fairy with the new The Tooth Fairy Collection! When your child loses their first tooth, it's such a magical moment! The Tooth Fairy Collection is a set that includes keepsake items to make this milestone moment a memorable and magical one for children and parents! From a beautifully written storybook, a neat pouch, and elegant filigree decorated vault to keep the teeth safe are all The Tooth Fairy approved! I love giving keepsake gifts for Baby Shower gifts, so this is now added to my list of gifts to buy for parents-to-be!

The magic and wonder of The Tooth Fairy started out with playful ads in the 1920s directed to kids to keep clean and tidy with the wave of a fairy wand! Then in the late1920s, Esther Watkins Arnold brought life to the The Tooth Fairy through her whimsical play of the same name. The magic and wonder of a fairy trading in a freshly lost tooth for a prize enchanted the children of the nation! The tradition has carried over for nearly a hundred years and now The Tooth Fairy Collection is making this tradition even more magical, and actually a lot more easier for parents!

My older son has lost five teeth since the pandemic began, so The Tooth Fairy visited us four times (he lost two teeth in one day recently!), and I have to tell you, I was busy! You see, parents work for The Tooth Fairy! From glitter notes, tiny glitter footprints, and a plastic case to hold these bones, I am running out of ideas! Thankfully, The Tooth Fairy Collection put together a beautiful package that is classy and useful! With an elegant vault to hold your child's treasured teeth, a storybook to read together, and even a pouch to keep the tooth safe!

To use The Tooth Fairy Collection set is so simple and fun, have your child place their lost tooth in the special pouch and then place it underneath their pillow at bedtime. Keep track of lost teeth and even fun facts about your child on the Keepsake pages of the book; I like to write down how my child lost their tooth! Read the storybook, "A Visit from the Tooth Fairy" before bedtime, and make it a tradition each time their tooth is lost! The storybook is written in poetic form and is a way to encourage a positive experience of losing a tooth! The Tooth Fairy arrives while they sleep, will then move their precious tooth for safekeeping inside the opulent vault that can also be personalized using the included sticker.

The pouch has a suede-like texture with the embroidered logo of The Tooth Fairy Collection!

The vault is beautifully decorated with filigree and even has slots for each tooth that is lost!

With The Tooth Fairy Collection, parents and children can celebrate this tradition and milestone together! This limited-edition Collection includes three beautiful elements to make the experience even more exciting and memorable:

  • An enchanting Storybook for families to read together before bedtime
  • A special Pouch which holds the tooth while they wait for a visit from The Tooth Fairy
  • An opulent Vault to store the tooth for safekeeping
You can purchase this keepsake set for Baby Showers, Birthdays, or even as a gift when your child loses their first tooth for $50 on The Tooth Fairy Collection website! It will be a gift that will keep on giving; as you will definitely use it 20 times!

The elevator is always a party, and don't be afraid to fart in the hallways as there is a real whoopie cushion that you can step on! From top to bottom, this hotel is ultra kid-friendly and family friendly. LEGO brick fans will appreciate the nod to their favorite toys as well.

Give your kids the chance to drive their own LEGO car!

Planning a trip or day trip at LEGOLAND New York? Consider these tips and tricks from our recent visit!

LEGOLAND New York Resort is great for day trips and getaways! We had a great experience at LEGOLAND New York Resort in July. We only went for a day and did not really experience everything LEGOLAND had to offer; however, we are already planning to go back to experience all of the rides. We live in NYC, so LEGOLAND is just an hour from us. We would love to stay at the hotel one day, but it is not in our budget at the moment. You can plan a great day trip at the park, and head home at closing, if you're in the same situation as us. Otherwise, take advantage of the convenience and overall experience of staying on-site.

Check the weather. I can't stress this enough. If the weather calls for any kind of rain and lightning strikes, then I would change the date you're going. We couldn't go on the outdoor rides while there were lightning strikes in the area. We were lucky to ride on the big coaster before they shut it down again for the rest of the day.
Plenty of food options! LEGOLAND New York has so many food options that are allergen free, which is a huge bonus! This gives parents so much peace of mind, and even though we do not have any food allergies, it is nice to see how easy it is to find a good meal! I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to read ever ingredient, and LEGOLAND just makes it easy to see what has nuts or dairy (I was dairy free for a long time).

As for food quality, the food is typical theme park food but there are more elegant options. We ate at Brickbeard's for lunch and the food lines are separated by the menu. It was confusing at first and hard to navigate with children, but we separated and ordered. This would be hard for adults alone with kids, so I would suggest heading to Brickolini's instead. Brickolini's is budget friendly and has a lot of choices! If you're on a budget it is perfect as it serves the food buffet style. Throughout the park there are snack stands and even beverage refill stations with fountain drinks to refill your souvenir cup! We didn't try the legendary Apple Fries, which is my biggest regret! I hear that they are a must try.

Navigating LEGOLAND New York is tricky, but there are two ways you can do it under different circumstances. LEGOLAND New York is built on a mountain. I would suggest starting at Miniland and working your way down to LEGO Pirates. That path is a little too steep to travel up. We ran up that path to escape the torrential down pour. We loved it though! It didn't damper the end of our day at all! We took refuge in The BIG Shop, which is totally okay--we got some great deals on LEGO sets we normally cannot find!

There are hills, so keep that in mind for older park guests. If you're going with kids, start out on Brick Street and head over to ride LEGO Ninjago The Ride (located in LEGO Ninjago). Along the way you will encounter a cool fountain that kids (and adults!) can use - just step on musical spots to create a musical water show!

Then head to LEGOLAND Castle to get in line for The Dragon, which is a really fun thrill ride perfect for kids and adults! If you have little ones with you, then The Dragon's Apprentice is for you!

After LEGO Castle is LEGO CITY where toddlers and kids can become certified LEGO CITY drivers and earn their driver's license!

Along the way we encountered live entertainment hosted by LEGOLAND Model Citizens! We even met the Police Officer Minifigure, which was such a thrill!

A day at LEGOLAND New York is expensive for a family of four. Overall we spent -with our discounted tickets, tolls, gas, food, and souvenirs- a grand total of $355! That was literally one day at LEGOLAND New York.

Okay, so we didn't need to play the $40 in carnival style games, nor did we have to buy those hard to find LEGO sets in The Big Shop. However, those were the perks of being at the park. I think the day was well worth the money since we packed so much in just six hours of park time (our day was cut short due to weather!).

There are plenty of ways to save money for a trip to LEGOLAND New York. Here's how!

  • Check LEGOLAND New York Resort's website directly for deals for day visits and even resort overnight stays. An easy way to do this is to sign up for their newsletter.
  • Staying hydrated is important, so I brought along a very small cooler (it was old Medela cooler bag for my breast milk! Hah!) to keep a few bottles of water inside. You can also splurge on the souvenir cup to refill throughout the park. If you love fountain soda, then definitely go for it!
  • Spend the money on the food - it's good! Save some money by eating at Brickolini's in LEGO City as it is buffet style!
  • Bring snacks for the kids. I brought little bags of Goldfish, mini muffins, and anything that would be melt-free during our romp through the park.
  • Staying overnight? Stay on-site, you get a free continental breakfast to help jumpstart your day! Plus you get the perks of not paying for park parking, and you're just steps away from the fun!
  • Do you love ride photos? We do too! Buy them! Buy your first set of ride photos at regular price, and save your receipt to show to kiosks there after to get the remainder of your park photos for only $5 each! Try this: If your family is a car ahead of you in a ride photo, ask the Model Citizen (nicely!) to move the photo over to align with both cars in one photo. We actually were able to do this a couple of times!
  • Stay away from the carnival games. They are right in front of The Dragon's Apprentice Rollercoaster - what a great spot! We dropped $40 in a matter of moments for a duck picking game. The prizes were actually high-quality, but still not worth it. Skip it! Next time I would rather spend that money in The Big Shop.
  • Not really park related, but a great tip! If you're a hardcore LEGO collector - save your cash from buying third party for hard to find LEGO sets, and scour LEGOLAND New York's The Big Shop - we found so many LEGO sets and Brickheadz that are on the brink of extinction that we went buck wild in that shop!
  • Save time in the park by going during the week and be sure to arrive before park opening. We visited on a Friday, and the park was pretty sparse with people.
  • FYI - Due to current New York State guidelines, masks are not required while walking the park, nor indoors if fully vaccinated.

There are plenty of shopping options -- feel free to browse!

There are interactive kiosks at The Big Shop, along with loads of LEGO sets, merch and models!

There are so many LEGO statues and models outside and inside the park. Make sure you stop and smell the brick roses, and take some fun shots!

When I think of more tips, I will add them to here! Make sure you follow me here on my blog, and more of my social media sites to stay in tune with the latest in New York family things to do, and cool product unboxing videos and reviews!

Say Hello to Gut Health & a Happy Mind! Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies

It's just another manic Monday! Let's talk Golí vitamins! Yes, not your typical toys and collectibles post, but this is what keeps me going and I want to share it!

Back in March of this year, I took a good look at myself in the mirror. I felt burnt out after a year straight of COVID related everything. If you've been following my page since last year, you may know that our son was really sick, and there seemed to be no end to the nightmare. Fast forward to this past March, and our awesome boy, Marcello was just starting to get better. I was also six months out of not breastfeeding Rocco, and I felt like I was starting to level out. I feel like I've been a hormonal mess since 2013. I didn't realize I needed a little extra help every day, and I found this in Golí gummies. If you want to read my full story, it's on my blog at www.playliverepeat.com.

I felt like it was my time to take ME back!

I looked in the mirror and saw this older looking version of me. I didn't feel like me. Normally I'm chipper and happy- I felt depressed and really, really off.

I really needed a change; to be positive again, to be mentally and physically healthy. I changed my diet, my family and I started to walk every day, and I worked out here and there (I can't do it everyday 🤣). I also started cutting out bad foods and bad "friends!"

However, I wasn't satisfied with how everything was going. I'm impatient and things were going too slow.

I wanted a boost! I looked up whatever I could about bloat, low energy, anxiety-you name it. I ended up reading that drinking Apple Cider Vinegar was a great way to relieve bloating and help boost digestion, so I took a shot of mildy diluted ACV every day. It was really gross. My throat was burning, and the smell was awful. I put it in tea, on salad--no-- all gross. Then I discovered Golí after a couple of weeks, which are gummy vitamins that have the same nutritional value and benefits of ACV but with a great taste! They taste like apple and still have the benefits of ACV, they're gluten free, vegan, and free from artificial sweeteners and preservatives!  They taste good and I actually remember to take them every day whereas with the shots of ACV, I was actually dreading it!

I take two Golí gummies in the morning with water, and I'll take one after a walk or workout. I was so happy when Golí reached out to me to become an ambassador; I normally don't say yes to emails like this, but I really use Golí every day and I stand by their product!! I'll show you my receipts! For real yo!! Since April I've been using Golí, and I've noticed that after walking or working out I'm less tired and no longer scavenging for food. I feel less full, probably because of that good bacteria from the Mother. Yes, I had to look it up too! The Mother is what you want in the ACV--it's healthy bacteria that helps breakdown food.

Now I get to share something I use every day and share the savings on to you!!!

Thank you so much Golí Gummies for hooking me up with this month's bottle!
